OBITUARY Frontman Issues South American Tour Recap

Vocalist John Tardy of the Florida-based death metal legends OBITUARY has issued the following update:

"South America was an absolute blast! We did play in Argentina once a long time ago, but Chile and Brazil were a first. We should have gotten down there a long time ago because our fans were completely sick!

"Once again we set a schedule that was probably too much (five shows - five days - five cities -three countries) and this time it bit us in the ass. After the Argentina show we got stuck in the airport because of bad weather and the airport was closed for 30 hours! That really sucked, but the thought of missing a sold out show in Porto Alegra was the worst part! I know how much trouble some of you went through to get to that show and believe me we did everything possible to get out of Argentina, but it just was not gonna happen! The good news is that we have already discussed it with the promoter and we will be back to make up that show! I am not sure when that will be, but as soon as we work it out I will let you know. We do thank all of our fans for coming out and supporting us!

"We made it home yesterday tired but safe and were back in the studio last night.

"We should be done mixing [the new OBITUARY album] at Redroom Recorders on Thursday and in Morrisound Studios on Friday for the mastering! Every day in the studio gets me more and more excited about these new songs!"

OBITUARY's new studio album, "Xecutioner's Return", is scheduled for release on August 28 via Candlelight Records. The band is working with artist Andreas Marshall for the cover art for the CD. Marshall has worked with the band for "The End Complete" and their most recent record, "Frozen in Time".
